Can’t Miss Fall Events in Marietta

Fall festivals, food and fairs are just around the corner, and there will be no better place to be than Marietta. Check out some of the events below to find out why you won’t want to spend your Fall weekends anywhere else.

Chalktoberfest

October 9th-10th

One of the largest events of the season, Chalktoberfest is returning to the Marietta Square. Hosted by the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, Chalktoberfest is an incredible combination of chalk artistry and craft beer. The free festival will feature 86 different chalk artists that will transform the square into a masterpiece. On October 9th will be the Craft Beer and Wine Festival, which will allow visitors to sample more than 120 craft beers and 20 wines. This portion of the event is ticketed, and tickets can be purchased at https://mariettacobbartmuseum.org/. There will also be great food and music from local artists.

 

HarvestFest

October 16th

Enter a costume contest, peruse arts and crafts, play carnival games, join a pie-eating competition, get up close and personal with City of Marietta Vehicles and more at HarvestFest. Glover Park at Historic Marietta Square will be full of scarecrows from local schools, businesses and non-profit organizations. Vendors from several southern states will come together to participate in the HarvestFest Market. Attendees of all ages will have the opportunity to show off their fun costumes. 27th Annual Taste of Marietta

October 24th

Do you ever have multiple restaurants on your mind? Are you the type that finds it impossible to choose just one place to eat? If so, then you need to attend Taste of Marietta in the Marietta Square. Taste of Marietta is the largest and longest-running food festival in Cobb County. The event highlights a myriad of local restaurants. Vendors provide small tastes of their food and can potentially win a few awards. Visitors will get to eat and drink until their hearts and stomachs are content. North Georgia State Fair

September 23rd – October 3rd

Nothing says “Fall in the South” like attending a State Fair. The North Georgia State fair at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta is sure to be a good time. They have attractions like The Paul Bunyan Lumber Jack Show, Jurassic Kingdom and Kachunga & The Alligator Show. They have a concert series that includes major stars like Gabby Barrett. They have pageants and exhibits and shows galore, and, of course, they have many food vendors and fair rides. Marietta Square Farmers/Artisan Market

Every Saturday, 9am-12pm

Although it happens weekly throughout the year, there is just something about attending an outdoor market in the fall. The Marietta Square Farmers and Artisan Markets are a showcase of dozens of vendors with everything from flowers to specialty foods to hand-crafted artistry. You can do your weekly grocery shopping, find a friend a gift and even find a decorative piece for your home.
